Quanah Panhandle, LLC is a privately held, independent oil & gas exploration & production company headquartered in Dallas, Texas. The company currently owns, manages, and operates producing and developable assets in the Texas Panhandle and is evaluating acquisitions in and around its existing assets, including the Oklahoma Panhandle.

Quanah’s team includes operations, geology, engineering, finance, and land professionals, that focus on growing production and reserves by utilizing the latest technology to maximize the recovery of hydrocarbons in an efficient and a responsible manner.


Management & Directors

The Management Team at Quanah has more than a sixty years of experience in oil and gas exploration and production, oilfield service and energy finance.


Mr. Klvac is one of the founders of Quanah and serves on the Board and as President & Chief Financial Officer. Prior to Quanah, Mr. Klvac was CFO, CRO and Sole Manager for an independent exploration and production company with operations in New Mexico and New York and non-operated interests in Wyoming. Mr. Klvac was a consulting CFO for multiple oilfield service companies.

From 2009-2013, Mr. Klvac served as Chief Financial and Accounting Officer for PostRock Energy Corporation (“PostRock”), a publicly traded exploration and production company. Prior to PostRock, Mr. Klvac served in various accounting roles in the oilfield service, chemical manufacturing, food production, public utility and public accounting industries.

Mr. Klvac received a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas.


Mr. Torr is one of the founders of Quanah and serves as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to Quanah Mr. Torr was an independent consultant, managing his clients production and completion activities, construction of facilities and marketing activities in several prolific fields.

From 2011–2015, Mr. Torr served as Project Engineer, Senior Production Engineer and Senior Operations Engineer for EOGA, Eagle Oil and Gas and TAQA North USA. From 1997-2009, Mr. Torr served as VP Operations on the management team at Camwest, Inc. From 1981-1997, Mr. Torr served in various capacities including Field Engineer, Operations Engineer, Field Supervisor and Production Superintendent for Hunt Oil Company. His tenure included stops in Louisiana, Yemen and West Texas.

Mr. Torr received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri, Rolla in Rolla, Missouri and a M.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas.


Mr. Santos-Cabrera is one of the founders of Quanah and serves as Operations & Completion Manager. Prior to Quanah, Mr. Santos-Cabrera held the positions of Senior Operations Engineer and Completions Engineer for PostRock.

From 2006- 2011, Mr. Santos-Cabrera held the positions of Field Engineer and Cell Leader/Engineer in Charge and Service Coordinator in the Well Production Services and Pressure Pumping Divisions of Schlumberger Technology Corporation.

Mr. Santos-Cabrera received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Technologico de Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico and an M.B.A from Rice University in Houston, Texas and is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.


Mr. Edelman serves on the Board for Quanah and is a Managing Partner with White Deer. Prior to forming White Deer, Mr. Edelman founded and/or managed a series of eight energy companies, creating significant value for investors over more than a 25-year period. He founded or co-founded Snyder Oil (now part of Devon Energy), Range Resources (NYSE: RRC) and Patina Oil and Gas (now part of Noble Energy). He also co-founded Bear Paw Energy and Bear Cub Energy, both midstream companies.

Prior to 1981, when he left Wall Street to co-found Snyder Oil, Mr. Edelman was a Vice President in The First Boston Corporation’s (now Credit Suisse) energy group and an associate at Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb.

Mr. Edelman is currently a Director of Noble Energy (NYSE: NBL). He is a Member Emeritus of the Investment Committee and a former Trustee of The Hotchkiss School, serves as Chairman Emeritus of Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, is a Director of The Wildlife Conservation Society and serves on the Advisory Council of Princeton University’s Department of Politics. He is a former member of the Board of Georgetown University. Mr. Edelman holds an MBA in Finance from Harvard Business School (Baker Scholar) and a BA in Political Economy from Princeton University, magna cum laude.


Mr. Edwards serves on the Board for Quanah and is a Partner with White Deer. Prior to joining White Deer, Mr. Edwards spent 13 years with First Reserve Corporation, most recently as a Managing Director responsible for the firm’s worldwide oilfield service and transportation investing efforts. He was also Chairman of First Reserve’s development committee, with management responsibility for the firm’s junior investment staff.

Prior to 1998, he worked in the corporate finance group at Simmons & Company International. Mr. Edwards holds a BBA from the University of Texas at Austin.


In November 2016, Quanah partnered with White Deer Energy, a private equity firm that targets investments in oil and gas exploration and production, oilfield service and equipment manufacturing and the midstream sectors of the energy business. White Deer seeks to provide capital to well-established companies with strong management and significant growth potential and works closely with management to pursue continual improvement and drive organic growth as well as growth through acquisitions.

Collectively, White Deer’s five partners have more than a century of experience in energy, finance, acquisitions, direct investment and private equity. The firm’s total committed capital exceeds $2.2 billion.
